Printer Server companion · v1.4.2

Receipts that just print.

A small app on your counter PC quietly handles every KOT and bill — to any thermal printer you already own. If a browser hangs, your kitchen still gets the order.

  • Works with any thermal printer (USB, network or Bluetooth)
  • Lives in the Windows system tray — no maintenance
  • Automatic retry if a print fails — desktop notification on issue
  • Auto-update so you never touch it again

macOS and Linux builds are on the roadmap. For now, the Printer Server runs on Windows only — pair it with any counter PC.

How it works

Order placed at counter → printed in the kitchen in under a second.

1

Order confirmed in BiteSlot

Cashier taps "Confirm" on the POS. The order lands in your cloud account.

2

Printer Server picks it up

The desktop app polls your account every 3 seconds and pulls down any print jobs queued for that branch.

3

Sent to the right printer

KOT to the kitchen, bill to the counter, side-order to the bar. Each printer maps to a station you configure once.

Setup guide

Live in 5 minutes.

One-time setup per counter PC. After this, the app stays in your system tray and quietly does its job.

  1. 1

    Download and install

Pick your OS above. Run the installer — Windows users may see a SmartScreen warning the first time; click "More info → Run anyway" (the app is signed by BiteSlot).

  2. 2

Sign in with your branch key

Open the app. It will ask for a branch key — find this in your BiteSlot admin under Settings → Printer Server → Branch Key. Paste it in.

  3. 3

Plug in (or detect) your thermal printer

USB printers are auto-detected. For network printers, enter the IP address. For Bluetooth, pair with the OS first, then it shows up in the app.

  4. 4

    Map printers to stations

Tell the app which printer is the kitchen, the bar, the counter, the tandoor — whatever stations you use. KOTs route automatically.

  5. 5

    Test print + you're done

Click "Test Print" next to each printer. If you see a sample KOT come out, you're live. The app moves to the system tray and waits for real orders.

Yes. USB printers are auto-detected. Network printers connect over their IP address on your local network. Bluetooth printers are paired through Windows first and then show up in the app.
Yes — the Printer Server currently runs on Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) only. Almost every counter PC in India is already Windows. macOS and Linux builds are on the roadmap.
Print jobs already pulled to the local Printer Server queue continue to print. New orders cannot be received until the connection comes back, but in-flight tickets do not get stranded.
Yes. The app silently checks for updates every few hours and installs them when nobody is actively printing. You never have to think about it.
Yes — KOT to the kitchen, bill to the counter, side orders to the bar, all from the same PC. Map each printer to a station in the settings.
